The “Political” and the “Real”

Tommaso Gazzolo

This paper discusses the meaning of Carl Schmitt’s concept of the “Political” in a dual interpretation. On one hand, “political” means “Reality” which can be described on the basis of a fundamental anthropological-political vision. On the other, “political” means the “Real”, the pure intensity of what cannot be defined. It is a concept which by its very nature is not susceptible of definition.
